Botanical workshop

Description: During this workshop you will have the opportunity to learn and photograph lots of beautiful mountain flowers which can be found in the Pieniny and Tatra Mountains in the South of Poland (Western Carpathians). Marek who used to be a specialist in mountain flora when he worked as a scientist (at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow) will tell you the Latin names to the majority of them. Every day we will make 4-8 km moderate walks in the mountains. The distances will depend on participants’ wishes and abilities. We will concentrate on plants, however, it will also be possible to photograph landscapes and various little creatures such as amphibians, reptiles and insects.

Other possible species to be seen or photograph: amphibians: Fire Salamander, 4 species of newts, Yellow-bellied Toad, Common Viper, Apollo butterfly etc.

Necessary additional equipment: good hiking boots, waterproof clothing, macro photo equipment

Itinerary:

1st day – arrival, transfer from Warsaw airport to the Pieniny Mts. B&B (400 km, ca. 6h driving)

2-6th day – 5 full days of excursions and nature photography in the mountains

7th day – departure and transfer to Warsaw airport (400 km, ca. 6h driving)

Price: 970 Euro / 300 Euro deposit

included: accommodation (full board) in B&B, transport (local and from/to Warsaw airport; Nissan X-trail 4x4), guiding, entrance tickets to the national parks
not included: personal insurance, horse carts or cable car in the Tatras (i.e. optional ways of local transport where getting by a private car is not permitted)
