Landscape workshop

Area: Polish Carpathians: Tatra, Pieniny and Bieszczady Mts

Description: October is the most colourful month in the Carpathians as there are a lot of beech trees which leaves turn yellow and orange at this time of year. There is a high probability of various photogenic events: low light, mist, fog, hoar frost, rain and snow. We will visit 3 most interesting mountain massifs in the Polish Carpathians (3 national parks):
- the highest Tatra Mts. – with rugged peaks, deep glacial valleys, high mountain lakes and typical alpine scenery
- relatively low Pieniny Mts. – with outstanding limestone cliffs and famous Dunajec river gorge
- wild and sparsely populated Bieszczady – dominated by beeches, the realm of Brown Bear, Wolves and Red Deer
You will join Marek on moderate mountain hikes (ca. 6-12 km) leading to the best viewpoints in visited areas. You have to be reasonably fit to take part in this workshop – you have to carry your photo gear along with water and food for the whole day – on your back. You also have to prepared for unpredictable weather – we might even have some snow in the mountains at this time of year.

This is basically a landscape workshop but we may have some unexpected animal bonuses e.g. such as chamois or brown bear.

Rough itinerary:

1st day – transfer: Warsaw airport – Tatra Mts. (400 km, ca. 6h driving)

2nd and 3th day – Tatra Mts.
4th day – Pieniny Mts
5th day – transfer to the Bieszczady Mts. (ca. 300 km)
6th and 7th day – Bieszczady Mts.

8th day – departure and transfer to Warsaw airport (450 km, ca. 6h driving)

Price: 1100 Euro / 300 Euro deposit

not included: personal insurance, flight tickets, optional ways of local transport where getting by a private car is not permitted
